Meet David

Congressman David Valadao will continue to bring strong, practical leadership to Congress. David knows how to bring real results and real change that helps Valley families. As a lifelong resident of the Central Valley, he knows how to help us because he is one of us.

Son of Immigrants

David Valadao was born and raised in Hanford, California. As a lifelong resident of the Central Valley, he has been active in agriculture and dairy industry groups, as well as many local charities.

The Valadao family emigrated from the Azores Islands of Portugal to the United States in 1969. After settling in the Central Valley, Valadao’s father started a small dairy farm in the Central Valley in 1973. Valadao was born on April 14, 1977.

Valadao attended local schools, graduating from Hanford High School in 1995 and later attended the College of the Sequoias in Visalia. Valadao married his high school sweetheart, Terra, in 1999. Together, they have three beautiful children.

Farmer

Valadao works on the family farm which consists of two dairies as well as farmland in Kings County, on which they grow alfalfa, almonds, corn, and wheat.

Intimately involved in the dairy industry, Valadao has taken on leadership roles within the California Milk Advisory Board, Western States Dairy Trade Association, and served as the Regional Leadership Council Chairman for Land O’ Lakes, Inc.

Congressman Valadao currently serves on the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agricultural, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration. His work on this powerful subcommittee delivers crucial funding to the Central Valley’s ag community.

Fighting for the Valley

In 2010, Valadao was elected to represent California’s 30th State Assembly District. Valadao served on several California Assembly Committees including the Agriculture Committee, where he held the position of Committee Vice-Chair.

David Valadao served as a Member of the United States House of Representatives, representing California’s 21st Congressional District which includes Kings County and portions of Fresno, Kern, and Tulare Counties from 2013 to 2019. During his time in the House of Representatives, Congressman Valadao served on the influential House Appropriations Committee, which is the committee responsible for funding the federal government and determining where American tax dollars are spent.

David is a proud son of the Central Valley. This community is his home and he’s always fought to do what’s right for the Valley. Californians need a strong voice they can trust representing them in Congress – someone who listens and understands that Central Valley residents just want an opportunity to provide and build a better life for their families.

David can’t sit silent and let Rudy Salas pursue a radical liberal agenda that will hurt our communities. The Central Valley needs a full-time Representative that people can be proud of and trust.

We need to protect our water, put an end to out-of-control inflation and outrageous gas prices, work to bring new jobs and job training to the Central Valley, and stand up for seniors and veterans to ensure they get the benefits they deserve. David Valadao will make a real difference for the Central Valley.
